Dr M S Krishnan ("Krishnan") is Mary and Mike Hallman e-Business Fellow, Area Chairman and Professor of Business Information Technology at the University of Michigan Business School. Dr. Krishnan received his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Graduate School of Industrial Administration, Carnegie Mellon University in 1996. He was awarded the ICIS Best Dissertation Prize for his Doctoral Thesis on "Cost and Quality Considerations in Software Product Management". His research interest includes Global Competitiveness and Resource Leverage, Customer Centricity, Corporate IT strategy, Business value of IT investments, and management of distributed business processes, software engineering economics, metrics and measures for quality, productivity and customer satisfaction for products in software and information technology industries. In January 2000, American Society for Quality (ASQ) selected him as one of the 21 voices of quality for the twenty first century.

His research articles have appeared in several journals including Management Science, Information Systems Research Information Technology and People, Strategic Management Journal, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, IEEE Software, Decision Support Systems, Harvard Business Review, Information Week, Sloan Management Review, Optimize and Communications of the ACM. His article "The role of team factors in software cost and quality" was awarded the 1999 ANBAR Electronic Citation of Excellence.

He serves on the editorial board of reputed academic journals including Management Science and Information Systems Research. Dr. Krishnan has consulted with Ford Motor Company, NCR, HIP, IBM, Bellsouth, TVS group and Ramco Systems.

At an overall level, Krishnan is working with the Marketics leadership team to strengthen it's business model. Working with Marketics, Krishnan is helping US marketers better deal with their data life cycle - from collection, to storing to insight generation. Prof. Krishnan also helps leverage information technology to analyze data, especially real-time ('fungible') data .



Joy Gupta
Founder & President – Research Solutions LLC, US

Joy Gupta has an accomplished 25-year career straddling two major industries – consumer packaged goods and healthcare. He has held progressively important and senior management positions with reputed multinational companies.

As Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Sciences at IPSOS-ASI (the leading advertising research company), Joy helped turn around US revenues and profits and oversaw introduction of two new products.

Joy also held senior management positions at Monsanto-Searle and Brintnall & Nicolini (B&N) where, among other achievements, he supported significant expansion of their US business, including successful launches of blockbuster drugs. He pioneered Searle’s efforts in Direct-to-Patient Advertising, and built B&N’s MR expertise in Asia and Latin America.

Joy has also held several senior management positions at the Procter & Gamble Company (P&G). He helped shape P&G’s strategic goals on new initiatives in the home care division, including identifying breakthrough opportunities. He introduced techniques, analytic applications and processes that significantly strengthened P&G’s global market research expertise.

In 2002, he founded Research Solutions LLC, a consulting practice offering services in market research & analytics, advertising and branding, strategic planning and new product launches. His clients include pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods companies.

Joy has published several papers and presented at a number of industry conferences.

Joy is actively involved with shaping the strategic direction of Marketics. He advises the team on go-to-market strategies, new client acquisitions in the US and building the market research & healthcare practices within Marketics.

He lives with his family in Sandy Hook, Connecticut.



K Ganesh

K. Ganesh over the last 17 years has the distinction of seamlessly moving between the corporate world and entrepreneurial ventures. He has founded, successfully scaled up & monetized two ventures and turned around an ailing Joint Venture.

In 2005 , Ganesh launched TutorVista, a global education company funded by Sequoia Capital. TutorVista (www.tutorvista.com) is a one-stop education portal that combines live tutoring, pedagogy and technology to make education affordable to the masses.

His earlier venture, CustomerAsset was started in mid-2000 to address the international Call Center / BPO Sector. In May 2002, ICICI (NYSE listed, India's second largest bank) acquired CustomerAsset for over $ 20 million. The company won the Software Technology Park of India's, "Best Software Exporter Award" within two years of inception for being the second largest exporter in the SME category.

As his first entrepreneurial venture, in 1990, he co-promoted IT&T, which is today a publicly listed IT company. IT&T focused on providing Technical Support Call Center services to Clients in US & UK till the business was sold to iGate (Mascot Systems) in 2003. Ganesh till recently was on the Board of Directors in IT& T.

Apart from founding and successfully growing the two ventures, Ganesh has worked as CEO of Bharti British Telecom - a British Telecom joint venture in India and with HCL Ltd., where he held several key managerial positions.

Ganesh is a post-graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi University.

Ganesh is part of the visiting faculty at leading management institutes and a charter member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), Bangalore.

Ganesh continues to contribute to Marketics' growth in an advisory capacity. Ganesh acts as a mentor to the core team offering advice on improving organizational effectiveness.
